Doctors in Britain warned to mobile phone users not to use the phone too often. The phones can cause interference to the skin, especially for skin that is prone to allergy.
Doctors who joined the British Association of Dermatologist (BSD) to reveal the latest research on the ‘Mobile Phone dermatitis’, in which the frequency using a mobile phone can cause red skin, and itching. Conditions will be very significant if the user is allergic to nickel, one of the materials used in making the mobile phone.
“Research on the dangers of mobile phone is, indeed very valuable, so we can explain to the patient complained of itching skin and ruddy cheeks and around the ear,” write the BSD, as quoted from the BBC, Friday (17/10/2008).
According to BSD, many doctors are unaware that the previous material nickel in the mobile phone can affect the skin condition. Nickel is a material frequently used in a variety of jewelry or watches.
Nevertheless, not all mobile phones contain nickel. Beginning in 2008, researchers from Brown University says 10 of 22 mobile outputs of eight different companies that contain nickel.
Previously, some research also revealed that mobile phone use too often can cause cancer in children
