Diabetes cause eye diseases

There is relation between diabetes mellitus (DM) with the eye or called retinopathies diabetics (RD).

According to the Bandung Eye Center site, in the developed countries RD are one of the main causes of blindness in the productive age. The risk of blindness will be increased in line with the duration of suffering from DM.

Research has found that the duration of DM to be an important factor for the risk of occurrence of RD. DM for 17-25 years have a 90% risk for the occurrence of RD.

Someone will have a greater risk if the contract RD hypertension, kidney disease, anemia and addicted cigarette.

DM than cause eye disease RD can also cause eye diseases such as cataracts and glaucoma.
