For some Band Music, the best compilation albums, greatest hits are collection of creative way. But for some: is a way to “extend the breath”

Yes, there are tricks to use “the best” to keep the name of the band, talents that have been around a long time but do not also get the opportunity to reach the top again.

But, for Dream Theater, the case is so different. This compilation album can be viewed as a place to recognize the Dream Theater. Places to start to recognize that in addition to the uses progressive music, they still have a sentimental side (the reason, this album is divided in two CDs, Dark Side and Light Side). Place to learn that during his career more than twenty years that have passed them is also filled with love-hate relationship with the mainstream music industry.

Like the title will be quite odd - The Greatest HITS, not Hits - that it’s a signal that indicated their relationship with the music industry was. Imagine, of 22 songs on the album, the only one which had a hit is “Pull Me Under” (Images and Words, 1992). Only the song that ever get airplay on radio and MTV and enter the Billboard charts, to compete with the mainstream songs other.

For those who want to learn but do not want to download all the albums, this compilation is feasible to try. Also to die-hard fans. Because it does not need to create their own compilation to be play everywhere.
